Repair windshields without being a part of a network
Repair windshields without being a part of a network
Can I still do windshield repairs if I am not part of the network? Will customers still be reimbursed for the repair by their insurance company?
Re: Repair windshields without being a part of a network
Raiders,
The answer to both questions is yes. I don't belong to any network, but I still am able to accept Lynx and SGC claims. When a potential client contacts me about insurance claims, I first ask them to contact their insurance companies claims department, usually listed on the back of their proof of insurance card, and to tell the representative that they need a repair and that they want my company to do the repair. They insurance representative will then contact me and ask if we will accept their pricing structure. One we accept the price, they will then e-mail or fax over a repair order with all the information that we need to include on our invoice. Once the customer signs the invoice and repair order, we then snail mail them into the insurance company and in approximately 3 weeks we receive a check.
If the customer chooses not to contact their insurance company and submit the claim on their own, I give them an extra copy of my invoice that shows that they have already paid me. Occasionally even when the customer submits on their own, the insurance company will still sent the check to me. When that happens, I just deposit the check and issue another to the customer.
Sometimes it's frustrating dealing with insurance, but it all works out in the end. Good Luck.

Thank you for your help in answering my question. I have been in the repair business for 7 years but it was under a corporate structure. Best of luck with your business and God Bless!
