repair on drag car?
repair on drag car?
I recently performed a rock chip repair on a low 10 second drag car, the damage happened on a trailer in transit and the car is not street driven. I told the customer that due to the extreme forces involved in racing this kind of vehicle that I could not guarantee the work like my other repairs. Does anyone have experience in this and if so how did the repair hold up?

Re: repair on drag car?
That really shouldn't be a factor...in fact you should have less risk in it spreading since it is only being driven like my life....10 seconds at a time
(sorry for the bad Vin Diesel quote)
A 10 second car would be traveling around 140mph at the quarter mile finish and I've done TONS of street cars that are capable of going well over 140mph. It may take more than 10 seconds to reach that speed but still the wind resistance and pressure would be same. I don't change my warranty based on how the vehicle is to be used or what kind of vehicle it is. If I get a good repair it doesn't matter what it is on...I warranty it for LIFE!
