training
training
Just getting started as a mobile windshield repairman and operating on a shoe string budget. Can anybody recommend somebody, as near as possible to Montana, that would provide a day or two of hands on repair training. I'm looking for a person to teach me the ins and outs of repairing, regardless of equipment, and I'm willing to pay for it. Possibly somebody retired?

Re: training
Hello Fetch, welcome to the forum.
I see that you are on a shoe string budget. Just a quick question.....what triggered you to start in this business?
And do you already have the tools and materials needed to perform quality repairs?
Two days hands on training -support- is not enough to get you going in this trade.
You need more time and you do not get rich quick, again: it needs time.

Re: training
Our training & certification course in Eugene, Oregon is held once a month. It is typically the third Friday of every month. The course will cover all technical aspects of windshield repair, and this training can take you from never having completed a repair, to being among the best technicians in the industry. There is a $100 fee associated with the course but the class is free for those customers purchasing a new Delta Kits Windshield Repair System.

Re: training
Hi Fetch-
If there is anyway for you to sign up for Delta Kits' training, I highly recommend doing so. I took the training back in October 09 and I have been steadily building my WSR business since. Frank EU is right; it's not a get rich quick business, but with proper training and energy spent on finding customers you can begin to make money right away. Delta Kits' training covers everything you need to know to begin. Their staff is knowledgeable and friendly and manage to make learning a lot of information in a very short time, interesting and enjoyable. The rest of what you need to know comes from experience and on the job training. I especially enjoy reading through the posts on the Forum on a daily basis because so many of my questions are answered here by technicians with lots of experience in the WSR business.
Good Luck!
