Why EVEN consider Windshield Repair?

Post by mrchips »

What if you could have the perfect job?

What’s all the fuss about?

What if there was a way to make 3-500 dollars a day working for yourself?
What if you could start your own business and be making $500 a day within 2 weeks of starting?
What if you had a job that let you have the flexibility to set your own hours?
What if you had a job that allowed you to take time off for your kids’ plays, doctors appts or whatever, without jeopardizing your position?
What if you had a job that would gladly pay you good money so the people who pay you save money?
What if you could get up every day and make money without depending on anyone else?
What if you didn’t need to have any employees and still make over $300 a day?
What if your job paid you cash a lot of the times and you always had money in your pocket?
What if your job allowed you get out and about and meet new people without ever having to sell anyone anything?
What if you had a job where people were asking you if they could give you money?
What if you had a business where your customer received your product or service for free and someone else paid you?
What if you had a business that was always in demand year around?
What if you had a job that allowed you to take time off whenever you wanted, for as long as you wanted?
What if you had a job where you could take a long phone call during the day from your mother who is lonely and needed to talk to someone?
What if you had a job where you could work outdoors?
What if you had a job where you could work a half day or whole day or not at all?
What if you had a job where other people where sending their customers to you?
What if you had a job that saved the landfills from tons of unnecessary waste?
What if you had a chance to actually help people and save them time and at the same time, make a great living for yourself?
What if you had a job that you only worked during the day and never on the weekends (unless you wanted to)
What if you had a job that you could never be fired from?
What if you had a job that would allow you to take long lunches with your bride or kids?
What if you had a job that you could do anywhere in the country?
What if you had a job that you could take with you on trips and still make money?
What if you had a job that allowed you to be the expert and get paid for it?

I guess you would be a windshield repair technician!

Congrats! One of the greatest jobs (and businesses) EVER!

Happy Chippin'

PS please add to the list if you like!

All that is great but one needs to find this mystery pot of gold and the dozens of kits that show up on EBAY are proof that a whole lot of folks fail.
The list should also include disclaimers like (If you can sell or are able to learn to do so) (if you can self motivate)
lets not spread it to thick and try to be realistic yes you can make a great living and yes the repair process is easy to learn finding customers not so easy for some folks :?

Great comments! and so TRUE!

I only posted this as a thought about all the things I love about this business.
But, be not fooled, it comes down to WORK!
I just happen to love the work! and where else you gonna find a business like this? - But you are right, it is not for everyone!

Easy = NOT ALWAYS

Simple = YES

and it does help to have a system YOU CAN FOLLOW THAT WORKS.

There are so many that do succeed at this business and this forum is full of great ideas that do indeed work.........If you are starting out, don't be discouraged! It IS A GREAT BUSINESS! (and it isn't that hard)

All good points but let's be realistic here. Starting out new in this business is not that easy. Lots of people come and go and fall by the wayside because they believe all they have to do is go into business and suddenly they will be rolling in money. We have been at it for 15 years and it took awhile to build up a solid and successful business. The industry has also been saturated with a lot more people doing wsr repair. Some good....some very bad. It's takes a lot of self motivation, determination and hard work in this business. You can't sit back on your butt and wait for something to happen.

Are you still performing repairs yourself?
If so, let's just hope that many, many new vendors will open their all new business, right at your doorstep mrchips.
Right in ''your own area''. The more new guys the better. Competition is good. The more the better. Or not? Was that not the objective?

What an advertisement. And for what reason? What's in it for you?
Why would you do such a thing? To me it is just very silly.
Or are you just promoting your ''book''?

Wow!

Are you guys listening to yourselves? So negative.............WOW

C'mon man. Be grateful! We have a great way of life and a great business and industry to be in.

Just think for one second, if it was all gone tomorrow.............?

YOU can choose to take on whatever attitude about this business you want

You can choose to be "REALISTIC" and AND FOCUS ON THE NEGATIVE (and obviously have)

Or you can choose to be "REALISTIC" and FOCUS on the POSITIVE and GET YOUR BUTT TO WORK MAKING SOME REAL MONEY!

PLEASE NO EMAILS ABOUT THE "HARSH REALITY" OF WORK.........YOU GUYS! YOU KNOW BETTER!

but MOST of it IS attitude,
plain and simple.
and yes starting a new business isn't easy
Yes it does take WORK
hard work
SMART WORK
and determination
and self motivation
and setting goals
and dealing with the "reality" of business
and getting up every day with a spring in your step
and getting up again when you fail
and adapting to change
and yes there are lots of issues with this business that will drive you crazy at times, like all businesses and endeavors.
But it CAN be done!
And you can succeed!
These are the same principles that built every (SUCCESSFUL) small business in America.

I am a little ashamed of you guys...........why such negative notes?????????

BUT, FOR ME - I refuse to even let any negative crap into my thinking......

Be SMART about what you do, develop you own system of success
Try and try again
Learn from your mistakes
Learn and "copy" the successful strategies of others who are succeeding (you can learn a lot from folks right here in this forum)
Find out what works and keep doing that!
Success leaves clues! Learn from them!
Be positive about the future, there has NEVER been more opportunity than there is right now, EVER! Especially in the windshield repair arena!

And go get another cup of coffee guys..........c'mon, we're in this together!

To this day, my dad, who is now 86 years old, still reminds me: "Successful people are successful, because they think and do the things that successful people think and do." -May sound a bit trite, but it has kept me on the right side of success throughout my life. While I'd prefer that yet another new windshield repair business does not open next door to me, I'm certainly not going to allow that to get in my way. A negative outlook just brings on more negativity. -Time that could be spent more productively, looking for new prospects, or refining skills. Even "goofing off" would be a better use of time than worrying about competition. In this economy where most people would prefer to repair things instead of replacing them, opportunities are everywhere. All I need is 5-8 of them each day! ;)

Quote: ''Be SMART about what you do''

With all respect, but I just can't see what's smart about the original post.
Again: why would you drop a post like this?

BTW:
I can honestly say that we have worked the smart way. And still do.
While the economy sucks, we expand where others don't or even close down. :D
I can honestly say, and proof, that I have made multiple millions in this trade. So far.
Can you?

But that doesn't mean that I would be willing to share the MO details.
Nor encourage additional competition. We still want to keep on growing ourselves you see?
After some 600 posts here on this very forum, this is the very first time that I am talking about money, about how much money we've made so far.
That is because I hate to talk about the revenues, repair prices, business conditions and all that.
Would quoting that MultiMillion number encourage others? I don't think so.
Would your post encourage others? I doubt it.
It takes so much more than just buying a kit and be trained. And it takes so much more than just positive thinking.

Again: why would you drop a post like this? You are avoiding the answer to that simple question so far, arent you sir?

Paulsrf is right, read his 15 Jul 2010 16:30 post.

YOU ASKED..........Why did I "drop a post" like my original one here?

Because I am GRATEFUL FOR the business
Because I am in a FORUM where we can share our thoughts and gratitude
and COUNT OUR BLESSINGS (if we want) or put others down (if we want - you make it sound like a crime to be grateful or share success stories)

I am VERY GRATEFUL for what we have

and especially a FORUM like this that allows the successful millionaires (like yourself) to tell everyone about your success.

quote from your post:
"Would quoting that MultiMillion number encourage others? I don't think so.
Would your post encourage others? I doubt it."

But, that is where you and I differ. I think success is a GREAT thing and is (and will) inspire those who are still building their business!

So, thanks for sharing and I hope you continue your success!

Nothing wrong with promoting the positive side of the business but one has to be realistic. Too many lazy people just looking for any easy buck these days but they don't want to have to work for it. They are the ones who read posts like the original one here and think wsr is easy money with no work! A month later they are standing in the welfare line! Those who have been successful in this business......truly successful in this business.....had commons sense, business sense, a drive to succeed and a willingness to work hard!
