Ross, I disagree with ww973 about yext.com. Used to be a good value but they changed their pricing recently. Now $13.50/call whether for replacement or repair or someone calling about fixing w/s moulding. Also have a plan for $59.95 no limit on calls. I dropped them after my bill went from $10/mo. to $71. Rep made it difficult to drop'em..I'm done doin business with them even if they lower their pricing. Just my personal experience.

How do you prove that there was no service rendered for your credit? Is it more of a hassle than it is worth? I am curious because I am seeking ways to to maximize my limited time, allow the most schedule flexibility and profitability. All indicators so far are pointing to the retail sector AKA: "the cash job" so yext might be an option.

Welcome Ross! Best of luck on the new endeavor!

SGT, I tried yext for about a month a got really frustrated. The way it works is they assign you a phone number that forwards calls to your current phone number and they record all the calls. You can log into your account and listen to every call that comes in. Therefore if its a replacement call they will review it and then credit your account. If you get a repair call and the person is just price shopping you get charged for the "lead" even though you didn't get the sale. The lady that sold me on the service didn't explain that to me, she told me I would only get charged for work I do....wrong...you get charged per qualified lead.

Another thing I didn't like was they gave me a number that used to be assigned to a VCR repair shop so I got calls for that for awhile. Also once you subscribe they post your info all over the web with the phone number they assign to you and when you cancel it takes awhile for them to remove all the links so anyone who see's those ads gets a dead phone number. If I did replacements I would consider this service as I did get quite a few calls for replacements but I don't think I got one job out of using them. I only used it for a month but I spent hours on the phone trying to clear up all the mis-bills on my account. I racked up over $100 in charges in about 7 or 8 days all for replacement glass which I don't even do. Basically the calls are all monitored by a computer system and if certain words are mentioned you get billed until you dispute it. Sorry but I got better things to do with my time.

Roo,

Thank you for your insight. Did you switch to something more convenient?

Brian, I am not using any lead generation company at this time. I tried a local coupon book with not much luck from that either after 3 months. I think I got enough response to pay for about half of the expense. I know it takes awhile for advertising to work but I just can't bring myself to throw good money after bad  I am still looking for that magic bullet but I am beginning to realize it's called hard work and time
