having trouble..
hey guys, i've been working on a project for some friends of mine in the Lotus community with their headlamps getting pretty bad and in need of reconditioning. I'm having some trouble thou with getting a good even and attractive coat to lay out on the lense. I've worked on multiple kinds of cars and have been at this for quite some time now. I can get the lotus lenses to look improved, but still leaving a little dissatisfaction in the customers eyes, as they are quite particular about their vehicles appearance. the issue that brings me to ask this, is after applying the coat2protect it leaves small streaks in the lens that are far more visible than any other lense i've done. I'm assuming its more visible because of a black housing that is used on the headlights and as most know, black will show any and all imperfections. is there a better way to apply this coating to get a better appearance on this. or is there something i could be doing wrong. right now i use the squared edge of folded lint free towel as instructed but im not satisfied with the end result on the lotus lenses. i've done multiple of these headlamps and i have in possesion of one now that was sent to me for practice and perfection which is what i and my customers demand. so at this point any techniques or tips someone may have, im gonna be utilizing it. granted i've used a b/s line or two and yes customers realize that this isnt like putting a new headlight in and thats its a reconditioning service that the goal is to acheieve clarity and nighttime driving visibility.

Re: having trouble..
I've seen the same streaks on Cadillac CTS's and the other day I did an Audi TT that had the same similar lines due to the black housing. I am guessing the lines are there on all restoration but the black housings really show the distortion.
