Forgetting The VIN Number

Can you still get paid by the insurance if you forgot to get the VIN Number?

Call the customer and ask them to read it to you off of thier insurance card.

yeah coustemer is not bein easy to deal with.. he keeps putting me off.. so their is absolutly no other way?

try calling the insurance agent, introduce yourself, and explain not obtaining vin # was a simple oversight. If they hesitate offer to confirm other policyholder info so they know you are legit. After they give you the info make sure you thank them for their time and trouble. I hope you got their signature authorizing repair services.

if you know where the owner lives or works and it is close. Drive over there and get the VIN that is visible through the windshield. Hopefully, it is not garaged or something like that. Good Luck

Thank you guys so much.... ayeah I thought about goin investagator and go stalk their house out.. lol I already looked at it on google earth.. but yeah he keeps it in the garage.. so I guess I might just have to follow him to work.. =) lol

How would I find out who their agent is? do I juss call the insurance company and ask? bc I am not required to get their agents name on my invoice

I'm actually surprised that customer refuses to give Vin# info over the phone. Were they not happy with the repair or provided service? I'm not sure I would follow them around or stalk them for this info as both time and driving cost money.
I personally would chalk this one up as a learning experience. JMO

not required to but I do in case I need to contact them..i.e, forgotten vin #, vin # does not match, etc.
