To those of you on the forum.

I was recently involved in a topic here, in which I felt that my intelligence, experience, and training were being attacked. I took it very hard and allowed myself to be involved in unnecessary drama.

After taking the time to reflect over the situation, I feel that my post was completely misunderstood by other members. Please allow me to apologize to each person involved. The unprofessional manner of my posts are not what this forum is about. I respect this forum and what it stands for, and my goal is to help anyone I can, become a success in this industry.

I hope that you all can forgive me. I will continue to follow Delta/ROLAGS Standards, and will continue to serve active on this Forum. I understand that everyone has their own opinion and experiences, and that they too will share what they’ve learned in the industry.

I am proud to be a member of this forum. I continue to learn and grow every day and it is my wish that each one of us would work together, as we all share the same PASSION!

Brent, you are correct. I was trying to show that I would have drilled into the Air Pocket itself! I'm glad you saw that!

Thanks and God Bless!

Chad, your cool by me and I'm sure by many others! Your always trying to help out by contributing useful information. Thanks!

I took your post regarding the bullseye as to drilling into center of void which would make sense. I guess some read it differently and commented because of the way it was written. ( center of bullseye, instead of center of void)

My only other comment about this would be when the the air gap (void) is located in the outer ring of the bullseye, it's very close to the laminate (so you have to drill deep... but very carefully) Unfortunately, in the past I've found if you drill too deep and hit the lami it sometimes closes off access to fill when drill bit pulls up melted PVB layer. Others can comment on this because it's only my opinion and what I've experienced.

Chad, no need to be sorry you did nothing wrong at all. If anyone should apologise it should be me but hey I did that yesterday.

The way I read it was drill the middle, now this is what I jumped on what I feel should have happened is that you come back and jumped higher explaining why. Why! is what I use to question most things that are told to me, maybe a character fault of mine the wife says I have one or two, dozen that is. Maybe I need to find a better way of saying WHY, but there again, why say one word when you can use ten.

The good thing is that post will help lots of new guys in the future, for that it was a worth while post.

Best regards and keep on typing.

Hello,

Glasstime, Although I'm relatively new to this forum I've been in the repair business for over 17 years now. Regardless, the most valuable lessons I've learned are the ones I've learned just living life. Most importantly, the more I believe in myself and the more secure I am in my abilities the less I am affected by the opinions of others. I've had to learn this the hard way as I spent many years in the grips of addiction and felt constantly belittled by those around me primarily because I was not true to myself. What I've learned is that when I establish a set of standards and then hold myself accountable to following them is that I don't have to answer to anyone but myself. I'm not worried about those who "attack" or "question" my abilities, intelligence or experience because I don't "need" them to validate me. Of course I fall short of that chosen ideal all the time and behave poorly. Then, all I can do is what you've done...to apologize to those I've harmed. I commend you for your humility. I've read several posts on this forum about this issue in regards to techs feeling "offended" or "disrespected" by used car managers treating them unfairly or poorly and they've stated that they won't put up with that "crap" and I feel bad that this is holding them back from their fullest potential. Hopefully as they mature and grow confident they will no longer be so affected and become the shining stars that they truly could be. I'm having a blast learning and growing, making mistakes and trying to correct them and I'm grateful to be a member of this forum.

Glasstime;

Your apology is accepted and I'm sure you'll accept mine. My suggestion is that we all try to be as explicit and clear as possible. As is obvious, even precise graphic depictions can be misinterpreted even though a picture is supposed to be worth a thousand words. I learned my lesson long ago when my father counseled me to "elucidate more emphatically or I'll horizontalize your perpendicularity". I recall that I was horizontalized but once before I got the message.

Cheers;

Puka Pau

Don't cry over spilled milk Chad, you should not worry too much about it. Nothing really happened, this is a fine board and you're doing good. Keep up and move on.
