Dealing with the replacement guys
I have recently made contact with a mid sized indy replacement guy When cold calling or at a regular customers account and find one in need of replacement I call him for a price he gives me a fleet price I mark it up about $50 on average if I can sell it he comes out does the job collects the full amount I swing by later and he gives me the difference doing at least 2 a week and growing strictly with customers im already at my advice would be to find someone of like thinking

I would be careful doing that type of business. I know a guy at a local body shop who subbed out his replacements to a glass shop a few blocks away. Word got out that he was marking up the jobs and the other shop was doing the work. It ended up making some people mad and hurting his reputation. People don't like paying more for nothing.

I have been running the same thing since I started in the business, I do it a slightly different way in that I get the replacement guy to bill me I then bill the customer. The customers seem happy up to now.

Not sure I'd be comfortable with that arrangement. Once you bill the customer for the replacement you subbed out, your responsible for all warranty and liability issues that might occur. I just collect my replacement referral fees upfront. What happens after that is their issue and not mine.
