Hello! I have been lurking here on the forum for awhile. This is my first post. I really like the wealth of information I have found here. I am new to this business and am trying to learn everything I can. I ordered my Delta kit Ez 300D last week and am expecting it on Friday 5/25/12. Can hardly wait.
Now for a bit about myself. I am a respiratory therapist employeed at a hospital. I have been doing this for about 5 years. Work 3 12 hr shifts a week. I also have part ownership in an outdoor furniture business. I will be reducing my ownership and responsibilities once I get this windshield repair business going.
I live in a rural area and no one to my knowledge does repair within 25 miles of me (except for a local service shop and they don't really push it). I have noticed a lot of chipped windshields around here. The local insurance agents were happy to hear that I was going to provide this service. A salesman friend of mine at the agriculture equipment dealership said he would let the management know when I was up and running. There current windshield repairman is 25 miles away and I would be local. Maybe a fleet account here!
I also plan on attending the Delta Kits training.
Thanks
Welcome to the forum! Good to see you are out selling your service even before you get your kit. Im not a seasoned veteran at WSR but I can tell you that burning up the phone line and knocking on doors is what it takes to succeed!
Thanks for your reply jhickman1! I see you are located in Fayettville NC. NC and SC are great places. My folks in law live about 5 miles from Cheraw SC and run a restaurant in town. We are planning on being in that area next October.
Welcome to our happy place! There are alot of guys on the forum that can really help you out. Hope that everything goes well for you. One thing I did learn over the last few day riding with another tech is DO NOT over analize this job and it will go alot smoother. Best wishes to you.
