HI All,

Can anyone tell me how you set your pricing when useing act, or do they pay you the maximum amount allowed by the insurance company they bill for you?

A.C.T. Question

I haven't used act so I don't know the exact process, but yes they do bill the max amount for each company.

That's one of the perks of using them esp. when you first start out.

2hipp4u,

When you sign up with A.C.T., they will give you a list with all the insurance companies, and what they pay for repairs.

Looking at a list, for instance:

Progressive $59.95 $10.00 $10.00

That means Progressive pays $59.95, plus $10 for each additional break on the windshield, up to a max of three.

Disclaimer: The list I have is from 2002, so it could have changed.

2hipp4u, I use ACT and I like the ease in dealing with processing a claim. The phone call takes as long as the repair at times is the only drawback in my opinion. Oh and you cannot direct bill and be an ACT member at the same time, (you can but they get their chunk anyway, the amt is reduced if you prequalify the claim is the only difference). As far as the list goes I don't even use the thing they do all the negotiating for you, they also put a damper on any steering that might be attempted by the claims adjustor (network) if that were to happen. I have had that occur a couple of times and they jumped the person right now it was humorous to say the least. I plan on makeing changes in the future but I am not in a hurry to deal with this issue untill things settle down a bit as I recently moved and am still in chaos for a while. ACT has been good to me and is a nessasary part of doing business for the time being and I can do a repair or two a day to pay them off and forget about it (well almost) The e-mail confirmation allows for a tracking device also but at times they will neglect to send claim info and need reminding not to often but it has been an issue so..... Good luck Scott:~)

We too have started out using ACT with mostly no trouble at all. In the future and more confidence behind our belt, I think we will switch to Lynx and others so we can save some money. We did ask for the list of companies from ACT with the rates but they told us they do not provide a list. Would be nice to have. Jeff, if you have access to a list could you please send or post it??

Regards
