Glas-Weld UK is a distributor for Glas-Weld Systems, the manufacturer in Bend OR. I was the training director there for a few years but am no longer associated. Their two training programs are distinct and their businesses are also entirely different.
I taught many classes around the country where someone had Glas-Weld tools and tools from another company. GlasWeldTech hit the nail on the head when he said that each company really only wants to teach on their own tools. However, relating to another question on the forum, the semi tractor with the overhanging visor, I told my student to try his other tool in that particular circumstance, if he wanted that repair job. The main idea is, when confronted with a problem, brainstorm a workable solution. It would seem meaningless to me as a mentor, to not promote that philosophy to my students.
I am starting a windshield repair school in the Austin TX area and it will be open to students with tools from any company. Not being associated with any manufacturers, I feel like this is one way I can help prepare techs to be better and more professional, no matter what brand is on their tools.
