Of all the different types of breaks eg. star, combination, half star, the bulls eyes are the fastest, easiest,and cosmetically look best when finished. The reason I use a needle Is because it is small and makes the bulls small, and fills good cosmetically. I tap it lightly, to assure myself, and if nothing shows I do it again, until I see something, and if its too small you tap it again to make it bigger and bypass drilling that will create ugly scars and pits on the windshield. Put your shield on and 1 drop of resin before you start your repair, and if you see it start to fill, why drill or pop anything.
Usually I never drill or pop bulls eyes. Unless it looks like a knick. If a star leg doesn't fill I pop a bulls eye in it after I'm done, lightly, and fill it. I find that different things work different for different people. I am always open for advice and getting it. Every break is a different challange.
