Re: attracting customers from car auctions????
I dont do PDR I do chip repair the system I use is http://www.premierpaint2000.net I found there were plenty of guys doing PDR already and no one doing paint repair so I went in that dirrection it has become a huge profit maker and gives me a lock with the WR As I have stated in many previos posts the secret to getting in the door is salesmanship and having a product others dont. I may do $600 at one location it generally balances out to 25% WR the rest paint repair or the Trimonex plastic recoat. This keeps me busy at one place rather than mulitiple calls to get the same number you work half as hard and half as long and dont have some other WR guy sneaking in the back door for $5 a repair less. I cover 8 dealers some every week some every other depending on the volume average $1500 a week this time of year more in the summer this job isnt hard if you work smart and diversify at least thats what works for me

GS:
I have talked to the guys at Premier and almost got a kit. Someday I may do it.
Around here there is a lot of competion for paint touch up. Off the top of my head I can think of four companies that service the dealers here, with two of them having nice shops and several guys, both mobile and in-shop. And they are always trying to take accounts form each other of course, and package multiple services.
Sounds like your market is a bit different... less saturation.
I have seen DrVinyl using a squeege type system in the past here, which I'm told is a knock-off of PP.
I would like to add the PP system to my biz at least for certain accounts, and places I go that don't get much attention like some smaller towns. Are you (and your accounts) still blown away by how good the PP works?

Re: attracting customers from car auctions????
Havnt done a demo at an account that I didnt walk out with the business thier system will take most scratches out that the detail guys and thier HS buffers couldnt. The paint is squegeed in the secret is the stuff is so thick you get a %80 or better fill making the chip often invisible other companies have tried to copy the technique with squegee method but they dont fill with the same stuff so it doent look the same then when you add the trimonex system to your offering you get a lock with the customer. The guys at premier are great and are Delta Dealers as well they swear by Delta and the service they provide. I have many touch up guys here as well most are spray guys a couple knock off squegee guys but honestly I dont consider any of them competition. Several of my accounts were totaly loyal to another WR guy untl I got in with the Premier 2000 then slowley I picked off the WR with "hey im here anyhow you have already given me $400 worth of work and I noticed a couple chips out there as well heck ile do all 4 for the price of 3 while im waiting for my paint to dry" bingo im doing the other guys chips during my down time FREE MONEY If you call the guys at premier mention you have talked to Mike in vermont they will give you a little more for your money.
I made my $6000 back in my first 5 weeks and would sugest the system to anyone in the WR business who is tired of running all day to 15 customers to get the same $ I get at one.
As a side not Enterprise has a Remarketing division in every state they will pay for repairs on recently purchased units at the dealers Car is a fresh Enterprise unit and the glass is chipped you bill Enterprise Paint is chipped or sratched the same. This makes the repair no cost to the dealer and its hard for one to say no to free repairs all you have to do is set up as a vendor at the Enterprise Remarketing near you (this is another thing the guys at Premier helped me with and I do 3 or 4 extra cars a week because of it)
Hope I havnt been too long winded but I truly believe most eople can make $100,000 yr doing the same things I do in this little market of mine

GlassStarz,
What type of training do they provide and is it included in the start up price.I am having a hard time seeing $6,000.00 worth of materials in their start up package.I have heard good things about that system. How long have you been using it and have you had any problems with long term lasting effect on a retail type customer.I ask this as when the car leaves the dealership the chances of you seeing the repair long term are none.I have seen paint thickeners and can be purchased very reasonably. Is the finish system what makes this system different ? I have heard some long term repair concerns from Used car Mgrs.I know in the N/east.Also you are quoted on their website.Seems you are still happy with results.

Re: attracting customers from car auctions????
Its pretty simple they train you at the office in Kansas for 3 days they teach you how to mix the paint and do the repairs they teach you how to do the trimonex plastic recoat and how to sell it and the same with the scratch repair. Sure there are things you can buy to thicken the paint but its not the same thing thier stuff leaves the chip shiney like it supposed to be and you never see the car again its permenent. They showed me a car where the detail guys got to close with the presure washer and took the factory paint of the nose only thing left was the chip repairs. If you want to buy the system but dont want to spend the $ flying to Kansas and renting a motel room I will be in Alabama a couple times this fall would be happy to train you there hell I would go out and get you a couple accounts as well its the easiest sell I have ever seen. These guys have shown me how to make a executive pay check without the degree and suit and tie and I would be glad to help someone else do the same.
