I totally agree it sucks to get referred to some jobs like that. It really seems like the neworks just say it can be repaired if can fit under a 1 dollar bill LOL I have seen some weird non repairables that fill fit under a 1 dollar bill. I really love the round pop can sized cracks with no actually impact point those fit under a dollar bill but in my opinion should not be repaired. I try and string 3-4 repairs together in one area so I don't have to drive so much. That way they are usually only 10-15 minutes apart. That helps if you have enough work.

Re: frustration and anger!!!!!
You guys need to go to a local full service car wash and work out a deal with the owner and pay him a set rate per repair. I work out of a low rate, poor quality, poor serviced car wash here in San Antonio and i see about an average of 45 insurance jobs a week. Car washes are where the moneys at. Wait for them to come to you. I was doing mobiles for about 2 weeks for a previous company and i saw more poorly repaired chips that the customers swore up and down where never there when they bought the car. I ended up having to drill out the filler just to them that they had been fixed only to leave empty handed and frustrated. Gas is too damn expensive..... find easier more efficient work and your headaches will be gone.
Re: frustration and anger!!!!!
Again I say, "lifetime value" of a customer. In my neck of the woods, most folks get at least 1 chip each year... so at $60 each year ... in just 10 years every driver in my community is worth $600 to me! If it only costs an hour or so to meet, schmoooz and obtain their loyaty... I am happy. What I have is a person that understands the need for windshield repair, has my chip saver and likes me!
I am even happy to re-repair lousy jobs for free that other businesses have done... it builds loyalty and is worth the 30 minutes to do the repair.
But yep, on a busy day when I have a dozen repairs scheduled, all within 5 miles ... then I have to drive 30 miles for a crack that is beyond repair... very frusterating.

As I have said it befor, maybe less income doing cash or charge repairs ONLY, but far less headdaches.
I just stay away from insurance work or networks , I create my own clientele and after the work is done have the customer submit my paid invoice for reimbursement , their choice !
This way I don't have to fight for my money.
Doing insurance work is like carrying around a Chinese egg , don't stumble because it might brake !
