I personally have nothing against any "Newbie" trying to get into this market.

What I do have a problem with is that too many "Newbies" come on here without doing a days worth of research! They want answers to questions that have been answered many times over and over on this forum. How can you tell when some haven't done any research at all? Simply by the questions they ask!

My advice to all new people wanting to get into repair is to first spend some time researching (a lot of it!). Second, is to seek out and acquire some professional technical training prior to providing any repairs and third is to understand this business is not just about repairing a windshield, it's about being able to sale that service successfully and back it up with quality results.

If you happen to get some negative feedback from some of us, it's probably due to the fact that you haven't done all your homework prior to posting.

Gary,

I agree 100% and also spoke with Jeff a few years ago and maybe Brent as well about creating more catagories and sub catagories. What I did not realize and was told was just how much time it takes to manage this forum. With so many threads that get off original topics but contain great info it would be extrememly hard to separate in to subsections. Now I do not know what all is involved with moderating a forum so perhaps it is not realistic. I am all for streamling to provide a more friendly member enviornment.

If it would become reality, I would like to see a section for what all is involved with setting up and running a legitimate professional WSR business.

to answer fender47...how about your profile??how many zip codes??..are you able to answer the phone??..if you are employed with a company and are not allowed to answer cell phone you won't get any jobs...after 4 rings they will go to someone else.....and everybody else has some good points..you need to diversify your business..is it full time or part time?

Starstruck, the remarks to my photo are totaly tongue in cheek and are meant to be taken in humour. The MTN is the paper that goes out for our business I am suprised you do not get it. It is a valuable source of information concerning the Mobile Technician hence the name. It is also the organiser and sponsor of the Mobile Tech Expo. Was that nice enough everybody?
