I have just started using the system so you may want to talk to some of the other guys on the forum. Dave will not sell you a kit unless you go down to his facility in Florida for training but believe me it is worth it. Dave is a great guy and definitely knows what he is doing. After all you really need to have proper training to do the best job for your customers.

Thanks for the response. I have talked with Dave on the phone. I have no problems with the training. You are right, there is a wealth of knowledge there with all sorts of plastics and glass polishing including extensive aerospace experience. When did you go for the training? Did you have any previous experience in this or related fields?

I have used IPS for 3 years now. Regarding headlights, I took several lens from Canada, (didn't want to see demos on just sun affected lens from the southern states) to the MTE one year. I let anyone who wanted to, do a demo on them. Hands down, IPS was the best. Anyone who looked at the lenser also picked the IPS lens.
I just came back from SEMA where 3M was demonstrating their new system. It showed to me that its the steps leading up to product use thats the most important. (something I already knew) They were pushing there pads for the sanding steps, then 3ms plastic polish. IF you have done headlights you know that a orbital sander can only be used in some circumstances. Hand sanding is still required. Try getting a 3" sanding pad into the corner of a grand am! When asked about a sealer their rep said they didn't seal them, BUT they should look good for 6 months to a year. My retail customers expect longer than that. As for the hand sanding, they recommended removal of the headlight, again something I wouldn't recommend. I have seen the Develop system at the MTE. I personally wasn't impressed with the demo. They seemed to be selling speed over quality. This is something I see all the time. Allot of systems seem to push the "Hey you can make $75 in 15 Min, just spray on and wipe off!".

As for glass, I used IPS without training and wrecked buffing pads and cracked out windshields. After training with Dave.... No Problems. GET THE TRAINING!
GT uses IPS Systems. GW no longer does. With the support Dave gives at IPS... I would buy from the source.

I was taliking to GT at SEMA (Nov 5th) and the kit was the same as from IPS. I asked if it was IPS and was told yes.

I work for GT. You may have seen us at SEMA, but GT has never had a business relationship with IPS. You may have us confused with another company. The reason that I am posting this is that the information implied above is incorrect.

just got back from ips, and i must say dave was awsome. the is amazing. i have never seen scratch repair before and can't see any thing can be as efficiant as his.
i do have a question for those in the north east. prices for scratctes, and h/l restoration, i'm sure they are diff. from other parts of the country.

Well I am bringing this old thread back up as it is talk about IPS.

The folks that have been trained, What is your feed back now that time has past.
You can PM or Email if you do not want to post on the site. I am really looking into this. I am looking at the Glass and acrylic.
I called and spoke to someone over there today but Dave was not going to be there till Thurs or Fri., He is on a large job at this time.
