Re: Windshield pits???

I have customers that I may do a WSR for and they will ask about the chip. I tell them this is common and is simply a cosmetic issue. Some I will do for free while Iam there. I may have a customer that really wants something done to them and I may charge $5 if there are several and Iam already on site doing a WSR or HLR. I dont bother the ones that are so small you can barely see it. Customers can have some very strange ideas, or request when it comes to there vehicles.

As far as filling small surface chips goes I find a thin resin works best (not pit resin).
I put a drop on the chip and scratch it in with a probe until the white disapears, cover with mylar, cure, scrape and polish.
As a side note always make sure the probe you use wont scratch glass.I made this mistake once :o

I do the same, but still use a drop of pit resin after making sure the thin resin fills in all the tiny nooks and crannies. Pit resins are generally a bit harder after curing so they will stand up better to weather and wipers.
