Resin not sticking/curing
Ok, My wife has a small rock chip in her windshield. I tried to just use pit filler and cure it. I let the uv light sit there a few minutes and took it off and peeled the curing tape off. Just one problem, after I pulled the tape off the filler came off with it. I tried it several times letting the uv light sit longer and also used a different resin and still the same thing. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why it wont stick or cure maybe?

Eric,
When you peel the tape off, the resin comes with it, but the resin is cured, correct?
If so, sounds like a Rain-X type contaminant is on the windshield.
If Rain-X has been applied to the windshield, it needs to be removed prior to doing repairs with any windshield repair resin.

Yes the resin is cured and is stuck to the tape.
This is a new mini and not even 6 mths old yet. I do most of the cleaning to the out side of the car and window cleaning. Even after the first failed attempt I went back a cleaned the window and still no luck. I dont know what else to do.
NO rainx on our cars. I hate that stuff.

Eric,
Has your van gone through a car wash or something?
If you spray a bit of water on your windshield, does it bead up?
Sometimes they have cleaners/waxes that can have this effect. Pretty rare though.

I first have to clarify, its not a mini van, its a mini cooper. No car washes either, always hand wash it.
Yes the water beads up on all the glass, but shouldnt window cleaner remove any wax or anything that would prevent the resin from sticking.
I just wonder if its the car wash soap that I use.
