How are you marketing yourself
How are you marketing yourself
What are you guys doing to market yourselves? Door hangers? Business cards? Door to door? Putting cards on windshields? Web sites? Internet ads?
What works? I have a web site and I have gotten 4 customers in the past month from people stumbling across my site.
What does it take to make this business work? I've got my kit, my business cards, my logo'd shirts, my web site and door hangers, but nothing is happening. I need 6 to 10 repairs per day to make this happen.
Thank you in advance!

Dragwurm, is right, if you're sitting around waiting on your phone to ring, 6 to 10 a day ain't gonna happen. Get out and do some foot work. Tell everyone who you are and what you do. You will "stumble" onto a repair quicker than a repair will "stumble" onto you.

Word of mouth is the best advertising you can get but it takes time for this to happen though.

I agree word of mouth is very good, but your mouth should be the best get out there and do some leg work, knock on doors talk to people give out cards, sell, sell, sell. You will not succeed in this business without this sort of effort. Web sites and adverts are good but require a lot of expense, work out how much each job costs. Example advert $100 got 10 jobs each one cost you $10. Knocking on doors a bit of time $5 on fuel got 10 jobs, you can all do the maths.
I apologise if I have caused any bad feeling by the style of my posts I just tell it as I see it. I do not really want to go the way of Yvan but I cannot put the letters to the page any other way.

So you guys are hitting the streets! I am really interested in what you guys are doing are doing to get sales. The fleet idea is great and I am working on getting these. As far as hitting the streets, how exactly are you doing this? I see myself going from strip mall to strip mall and walking into the shops. I might hand them my card and then say something like "Hi, my name's Alan and I repair windshields. If you or somebody that you know has a rock chipped windshield, I can fix it." Is this the gist of how you are hitting the streets?

I went into great detail about this sometime ago. Delta Kits used to have it up as a sticky but they took it down for some reason. I don't think they like me anymore
. The post was titled "Building Your Retail Windshield Repair Business". Or if you can't find it that way just do a search for all of Coitsters posts. I talk about cold calling in depth.
